Rite Aid acquired twenty-four Hook's Drug stores from Revco in 1994, selling nine of those stores to Perry Drug Stores, a Michigan-based pharmacy chain. One year later, in turn, the 224-store Perry chain was acquired by Rite Aid. The 1,000-store West Coast chain Thrifty PayLess was later acquired in 1996. The acquisition of Thrifty PayLess included the Northwest-based Bi-Mart membership discount stores, which was sold off in 1998. Acquisitions of Harco, Inc. and K&B, Inc. brought Rite Aid into the Gulf Coast area.

  • Lead store associates through the execution of company business plans/objectives to drive sales, be profitable and provide a superior customer and associate experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute weekly sales ads and price changes; process recalled, damaged, outdated, and transferred merchandise.
  • Ensure the store opens and closes at the appropriate time and the proper procedures are followed for cash transactions and bank deposits.
  • Analyze operating reports and make recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Observe, investigate and detain for authorities individuals that commit criminal acts in assigned store location(s).
  • Prevent internal and external (shoplifting/theft) losses by coaching and providing feedback to store associates on executing internal controls and creating/executing external theft strategies and tactics.
  • Assist in maintaining the physical security of the assigned store(s) such as auditing alarms, close circuit TV, lighting, etc.
  • Conduct Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) audits, maintain log book and react to EAS activation.
  • Assist Asset Protection District Leader (APDL), Store Manager, or other field/corporate management with internal investigations and other special investigations as necessary.
